The pandemic changed human lives in many ways. One of the more pleasant effects was the urge to modify old and build new objects to better suit our needs. This object built in the Catskills connects a house with what used to be a garage. The garage became a guest house, and the link between the two became a gathering place. The play of light and shadow slides between indoor and outdoor living volumes.

A veil of pickets surrounds the link, opening into windows in key locations of the skin. Light slots in between soften sun rays as they dance through tree canopy and land on the deck. Light bounces between the pickets of the door and the pickets of the link playfully as the door slides open.
